Tablet Press Assistant/Harvest Processor Floater (Grave Shift)

Description Summary 

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Responsible for all activities related to the compression of the product as per formula instructions. Responsible to ensure the machine is clean and set up properly. Adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) assuring the quality and quantity of product produced. Employees in this position will work on the grave shift. $20/hr + shift premium

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This is not a supervisory position.

Essential Job Responsibilities 

  • Assists in operating tablet press machinery in a team environment.
  • Documents tablet press process as per SOP.
  • Loads and unloads tablet press machine. Monitors tablet press operation periodically and reports any abnormal conditions to the Lead.
  • Prepares powder blends. Accurately weighs raw materials and finished product.
  • Assists in cleaning and disassembly of press after the completion of tablet run. Cleans and maintains tools and supplies in good condition.
  • Maintains tablet presses in good working order. Inspects for wear and communicates problems to the Lead.
  • Assists in set up tablet press, including start-up of batch and obtaining all tablet specifications. Visually inspects tablet press as it is running to verify that machine is running within normal and safe operational parameters.
  • Makes minor adjustments as necessary to keep all physical characteristics of tablets within specifications.

Other Duties 

  • Assist production personnel in operating equipment in an aquaculture environment, including pumps, dewatering screens, dryers and product packaging equipment.
  • Examines processing logs to understand the current condition of the processing system.
  • Continuously monitors and optimizes all equipment. Makes changes as needed.
  • Consistently maintains all processing areas according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
  • Performs packaging operations according to GMP requirements.
  • Maintains extensive, detailed logs and records accurately.
  • Maintains the processing areas in a clean condition during operation.
  • Assist in shutdown, sanitation, and startup of all processing systems, including periodic maintenance.
  • Follows all SOPs and GMPs as they relate to the position.
  • Actively participates in safety and work-related training
  • Communicates fully with other processors and other departments
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.

Physical Demands 

This position requires long periods of standing, recurring reaching, bending, climbing in restricted areas, lifting of moderately heavy items up to 70 pounds. Operates machines and equipment in a non-sitting position. A high degree of dexterity is required.

Working Conditions 

Work is performed inside the production tableting area, which can be warm and humid.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • One year of work experience required. Previous experience in a production facility is preferred.
  • Able to operate Forklift. Must have a valid driver’s license to be certified for forklift operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Possess mechanical abilities with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in work assignments. Must be able to work variable shifts, including weekends.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
